Darrell and Rebecca Maynard
members for about a year!

This is Darrell and Rebecca Maynard. They have been members of DCBC for about a year and we want to tell you their story!

Darrell and Rebecca have only lived in this area for about a year. God led them to Dunns Creek after researching different churches in the area. The first time they came, they were impressed by our warm family of believers who made them feel welcomed and at home. ðŸ¥¹ They love the kindness of our people, the evident love of God present in our church, our pastor's preaching, and genuine connection they have found here. They both express how much they've grown under Pastor David's preaching as well as being a part of Sunday Night discipleship and Rebecca wanted you to know how special it has been to be apart of the Ladies Bible Study. She feels she has found accountability and encouragement with these ladies.

Praise God for stories like these. He is working, church! and He is working in you too ðŸ™‚

Meet the Mathews
Carly grew up here

This is Mike and Carly Matthews. We asked them to share their story of how God has used DCBC in their life and this is what they said:

Carly grew up at Dunns Creek -- her grandmother is our precious charter member, Gladys Montgomery. However after a season of difficulty, Carly returned to her roots with her husband, Mike, thanks to the consistent invitations of both her grandmother and her friend, Tami. She says coming back felt like home for both of them even though Mike had never been.

Through the last couple of years they have both grown under our preaching and teaching, and have both been able to step into ministry roles -- driving the bus and helping in AWANA, along with VBS and now the women's retreat.

Carly shares that the last few years have been challenging but they are so thankful for our church and the emphasis on preaching and teaching as well as having a faithful group of people to love them and hold them accountable has been "life changing."

Meet the Cooleys!
faithful members since 2020!
This is Kathy and Mark. They had driven by our church several times as they live very close. For a few reasons in 2020, they wanted to try a church closer to home. Their first impression is one shared by many -- that DCBC is a friendly church. They share that DCBC was their last "visit" because it felt like home. They love and appreciate that our Pastor does not shy away from difficult topics and remains true to the text of Scripture each and every Sunday as well as our church's strong heart and burden for missions both locally and around the world.
Mark and Kathy share that they have grown so much under the different teaching, small groups, and Bible Studies our church offers. They love being part of community in this way as well as serving with others who are serving the same mission -- to love Jesus and his people.
Our pastor often says "at a church, you don't need to know everybody but you do need to know somebody." This has given the Cooleys inspiration and confidence to reach out to those around them even if they've never met.
We are so thankful for each of our members -- including the Cooleys!
