Music Ministry
Here at Dunns Creek Baptist Church, our music ministry focuses on the message of Christ.
Our volunteer choir answers their call to share with the congregation the Spirit of God, as revealed in music. A blend of contemporary and traditional styles allows us to reach people with different musical tastes. In addition to choral music, we offer special occasion productions during the holiday seasons to further emphasize the message. And you won’t want to miss our 5th Sunday Celebrations! Four times each year, when a “5th” Sunday appears on the monthly calendar, a special evening event is planned.
Anyone who feels a call to join us in this form of praise, regardless of musical ability, is welcome. Rehearsal is every Sunday evening at 5:00 p.m.
In addition to our adult music ministry, “Kinder Khoir”, our children’s choir, share their unique dimension of praise and worship on special Sundays throughout the year. Our Youth department also participates in special musical and dramatic presentations throughout the year as well.
Nursery (infants to Age 3)
The nursery is always open for every service at Dunns Creek Baptist Church. Our new nursery rooms are bursting with fun themes and lots of color to create a real child-friendly atmosphere. In addition to the colorful classrooms, all nursery workers have participated in special training in church child care procedures to insure your child receives the best Christian child-care available. If you have a nursery-age child, we welcome the opportunity to serve your family.
Children’s Ministry & AWANA (Age 4 to 5th Grade)
Dunns Creek Baptist Church has an exciting children’s program that combines fun activities with Biblical instruction. The Sunday morning program starts at 9:15 a.m. with each age group studying the Bible in Sunday School. Children’s church follows at 10:30am where the gospel is shared and children are taught how to worship God in a meaningful way on their own level. Some of their activities include singing, games, Bible memorization & Bible study. All of our children’s workers have participated in special training in church child care procedures to ensure your child receives the best Christian child care available.
In addition, we also have the AWANA Club (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed). AWANA meetings are filled with life-enriching experiences for our young people. We provide consistent positive teaching each week — combined with games, scripture memorization, refreshments, and most of all a time to learn about the reality of God, the truth of the Bible, and respect for our nation’s freedoms. AWANA Club meetings are carefully organized according to ages and school grades to provide maximum interest and activity for everyone:
- Ages 3 & 4 — Cubbies (coed)
- Grades K, 1, 2 — Sparks (coed)
- Grades 3 & 4 — Chums (girls) Pals (boys)
- Grades 5 & 6 — Guards (girls) Pioneers (boys)
Our AWANA Clubs meet every Sunday from 5:00 pm – 7:00 p.m. from September thru May.
Youth Ministry (6th — 12th Grade)
The primary objective of this ministry is to help young people develop a personal relationship and a daily walk with Christ This exciting ministry reaches out to today’s generation of youth with a message of the love of God and the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Our youth ministry goals are based on a foundation of worship, fellowship, discipleship and evangelism. It is our desire to attain these goals in the course of our weekly worship time, discipleship training, opportunities for young people to minister to others, and through special activities which promote spiritual and social growth. Some of our recent activities have included scavenger hunts, Christian music concerts, bowling, softball, summer camp, snow skiing, youth choir presentations and theatrical plays.
Our Youth team meets for Sunday School at 9:15 a.m., Bible Study every Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m., and Youth Worship on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. Details for other scheduled activities are included in the monthly newsletter, Sunday bulletins, and on the church calendar. Food Bank
Throughout the years, we have helped many families in our community through our Food Bank. We ask and encourage church members who are able to do so, to please bring a non-perishable food item to church with them every week to ensure we can continue ministering to families in need.
Vacation Bible School (VBS)
During the summer months, we offer several VBS options for children ages 2 thru 12th grade. That’s right, from toddlers to teens, this ministry gives students a fun-filled week of activity during the summer. Check out our Church Calendar for event scheduling.
