Adult Fel­low­ship

It is our desire and goal to min­is­ter to adults at all stages in their lives. Besides a full slate of Bible Study groups dur­ing Sun­day School, we also have a vari­ety of adult groups that pro­vide needed times of fel­low­ship and rela­tion­ship build­ing. New groups are being planned to meet the var­i­ous inter­ests and needs of adults of all ages. Some of the cur­rent groups are:

Music Min­istry

Here at Dunns Creek Bap­tist Church, our music min­istry focuses on the mes­sage of Christ.

Our vol­un­teer choir answers their call to share with the con­gre­ga­tion the Spirit of God, as revealed in music. A blend of con­tem­po­rary and tra­di­tional styles allows us to reach peo­ple with dif­fer­ent musi­cal tastes. In addi­tion to choral music, we offer spe­cial occa­sion pro­duc­tions dur­ing the hol­i­day sea­sons to fur­ther empha­size the mes­sage.  And you won’t want to miss our 5th Sun­day Cel­e­bra­tions! Four times each year, when a “5th” Sun­day appears on the monthly cal­en­dar, a spe­cial evening event is planned.

Any­one who feels a call to join us in this form of praise, regard­less of musi­cal abil­ity, is wel­come. Rehearsal is every Sun­day evening at 5:00 p.m.

In addi­tion to our adult music min­istry, “Kinder Khoir”, our children’s choir, share their unique dimen­sion of praise and wor­ship on spe­cial Sun­days through­out the year. Our Youth depart­ment also par­tic­i­pates in spe­cial musi­cal and dra­matic pre­sen­ta­tions through­out the year as well.

Nurs­ery (infants to Age 3)

The nurs­ery is always open for every ser­vice at Dunns Creek Bap­tist Church. Our new nurs­ery rooms are burst­ing with fun themes and lots of color to cre­ate a real child-friendly atmos­phere. In addi­tion to the col­or­ful class­rooms, all nurs­ery work­ers have par­tic­i­pated in spe­cial train­ing in church child care pro­ce­dures to insure your child receives the best Chris­t­ian child-care avail­able. If you have a nursery-age child, we wel­come the oppor­tu­nity to serve your family.

Children’s Min­istry & AWANA (Age 4 to 5th Grade)

Dunns Creek Bap­tist Church has an excit­ing children’s pro­gram that com­bines fun activ­i­ties with Bib­li­cal instruc­tion. The Sun­day morn­ing pro­gram starts at 9:15 a.m. with each age group study­ing the Bible in Sun­day School. Children’s church fol­lows at 10:30am where the gospel is shared and chil­dren are taught how to wor­ship God in a mean­ing­ful way on their own level. Some of their activ­i­ties include singing, games, Bible mem­o­riza­tion & Bible study. All of our children’s work­ers have par­tic­i­pated in spe­cial train­ing in church child care pro­ce­dures to ensure your child receives the best Chris­t­ian child care available.

In addi­tion, we also have the AWANA Club (Approved Work­men Are Not Ashamed).  AWANA meet­ings are filled with life-enriching expe­ri­ences for our young peo­ple. We pro­vide con­sis­tent pos­i­tive teach­ing each week — com­bined with games, scrip­ture mem­o­riza­tion, refresh­ments, and most of all a time to learn about the real­ity of God, the truth of the Bible, and respect for our nation’s free­doms. AWANA Club meet­ings are care­fully orga­nized accord­ing to ages and school grades to pro­vide max­i­mum inter­est and activ­ity for everyone:

  • Ages 3 & 4 — Cub­bies (coed)
  • Grades K, 1, 2 — Sparks (coed)
  • Grades 3 & 4 — Chums (girls) Pals (boys)
  • Grades 5 & 6 — Guards (girls) Pio­neers (boys)

Our AWANA Clubs meet every Sun­day from 5:00 pm – 7:00 p.m. from Sep­tem­ber thru May.

Youth Min­istry (6th — 12th Grade)

The pri­mary objec­tive of this min­istry is to help young peo­ple develop a per­sonal rela­tion­ship and a daily walk with Christ This excit­ing min­istry reaches out to today’s gen­er­a­tion of youth with a mes­sage of the love of God and the sav­ing knowl­edge of Jesus Christ. Our youth min­istry goals are based on a foun­da­tion of wor­ship, fel­low­ship, dis­ci­ple­ship and evan­ge­lism. It is our desire to attain these goals in the course of our weekly wor­ship time, dis­ci­ple­ship train­ing, oppor­tu­ni­ties for young peo­ple to min­is­ter to oth­ers, and through spe­cial activ­i­ties which pro­mote spir­i­tual and social growth. Some of our recent activ­i­ties have included scav­enger hunts, Chris­t­ian music con­certs, bowl­ing, soft­ball, sum­mer camp, snow ski­ing, youth choir pre­sen­ta­tions and the­atri­cal plays.

Our Youth team meets for Sun­day School at 9:15 a.m.,  Bible Study every Sun­day evening at 6:00 p.m., and Youth Wor­ship on Wednes­day evenings at 7:00 p.m.  Details for other sched­uled activ­i­ties are included in the monthly newslet­ter, Sun­day bul­letins, and on the church cal­en­dar. Food Bank

Through­out the years, we have helped many fam­i­lies in our com­mu­nity through our Food Bank. We ask and encour­age church mem­bers who are able to do so, to please bring a non-perishable food item to church with them every week to ensure we can con­tinue min­is­ter­ing to fam­i­lies in need.

Vaca­tion Bible School (VBS)

Dur­ing the sum­mer months, we offer sev­eral VBS options for chil­dren ages 2 thru 12th grade.  That’s right, from tod­dlers to teens, this min­istry gives stu­dents a fun-filled week of activ­ity dur­ing the sum­mer. Check out our Church Cal­en­dar for event scheduling.

Mis­sions

Ful­fill­ing Christ’s com­mand to “Go ye into all the world” with the Gospel, Dunns Creek Bap­tist Church sup­ports mis­sions and mis­sion­ary fam­i­lies through the monthly sup­port and spe­cial mis­sion projects. The Mis­sions Min­istry pro­vides the oppor­tu­nity for our church to have world-wide impact.
